Community Guidelines
Last updated: 2026-06-17
HappyFace is a place to share small acts of kindness and positive moments with the people around you. These guidelines describe what's welcome and what isn't. They sit alongside our Terms of Service — if you break the guidelines, you're also breaking the Terms.
Please do
- Be kind. Assume good faith. Disagree respectfully.
- Share authentic moments. Real stories, your own photos, your own words.
- Credit others. If you're sharing someone else's work or a moment that involved them, tag them and give credit.
- Respect privacy. Ask before posting recognizable photos of others, especially minors.
- Report problems. If you see something that breaks these rules, tap Report on the post and we'll take a look.
Please don't
- Harassment or bullying. Personal attacks, targeted insults, or persistent unwanted contact.
Example: telling another user to harm themselves or repeatedly tagging them after they've asked you to stop.
- Hate speech. Content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or veteran status.
Example: a caption mocking a religious community using slurs.
- Doxxing. Sharing someone's private information (address, phone, workplace, ID) without their consent.
Example: posting a screenshot of a stranger with their home address.
- Sexual content. Nudity and explicit sexual content are not allowed. Sexual content involving minors is illegal and will be reported to the authorities.
Example: pornographic images or sexually suggestive captions about minors.
- Violence & graphic content. Real-world violence, gore, or content celebrating attacks on people.
Example: footage of a violent assault posted for shock value.
- Illegal activity. Promoting or coordinating illegal acts, sale of regulated goods (weapons, drugs), or human exploitation.
Example: a post offering to sell controlled substances.
- Spam & scams. Bulk-posting, link farms, phishing, fake giveaways, or pyramid schemes.
Example: an account posting the same promotional link across dozens of chains.
- Impersonation. Pretending to be someone else — another user, a celebrity, or a brand — in a way that could mislead.
Example: a profile using a celebrity's name and photo to gain followers.
- Intellectual-property infringement. Posting copyrighted material you don't own and aren't licensed to share. See our DMCA Policy.
- Scraping or automation. Using bots, scrapers, or unauthorized API access to extract data from the Service.
What happens when rules are broken
Our typical response, depending on severity and history:
- Warning — first or minor offense. We may message you and remove the offending content.
- Content removal — we take the post down.
- Temporary suspension — for repeat or serious violations. Read-only access for a defined period.
- Permanent ban — for severe violations (e.g. CSAM, doxxing, repeat infringement) or persistent abuse. Banned users may not create new accounts.
- Law-enforcement referral — where the law requires (notably for content involving minors).
Appeals
